JEWELRY DESIGNS - DIACHROIC / FUSED GLASS

Ideas for fused glass pendants.  Kits will be available so you can make something using your fused glass or purchase a sample in class. 

 

HOW TO SET FACETED STONES  -  Glenn Swain

You can set three different shaped stones in “Snap-Tite” settings.  Tools for your use in class.

Cost: 3 stones and 3 settings - $30

 

FRINGE BRACELET     -      Sandy Chowynk

Tools for your use in class.

Beaded PENDANT     -      Sandy Chowynk

Stitch seed beads to make a pendant that can become a bracelet. Tools for your use in class.

Make glass beads using torch and furnished materials.     Class limit: 6       Cost: $35.00

SILVER METAL CLAY – DEMO Vicki  Cook

See how to work with and torch fire PMC -Precious Metal Clay – a relatively new material which can be used to make unique jewelry and other items.  Ask questions and share tips.

INTRO TO SILVER METAL CLAY WORKSHOP   Make several charms to learn the basics of working with PMC.  Which is made of pure silver, water and organic binder.  It’s like clay until it's fired.  Tools provided.

Make an ear decoration that climbs up & outside the ear, whether pierced or not.  Some tools available.

INTRO TO SILVERSMITHING  -  Don Brown 

What’s needed to get started – tools,

materials, and basic processes, etc.

 

PENDANT DROP --  Rita Strelow

Solder a silver setting for a medium rectangle gem using silver wire.  Tools available for your use.  Silver and gems available at cost or bring your own.  Class limit: 10        Cost: $5 – $12

 

FORGE A BRACELET  -  Kathy Johnson

Use copper, sandpaper, files and a hammer, annealing as necessary to make a forged bracelet.
Class limit:  6     Cost: $10 , includes copper blank, use of tools and torch

If possible, bring basic safety equipment - safety glasses and plan to tie long hair back.



FORGE EARRINGS OR PENDANT

Make a pair of forged twist earrings with or without a bead accent. You may bring your own 4mm to 6mm beads with holes that will accept 20ga wire, or choose from the instructor's small selection of beads.
Class limit: 6   Cost: $5 , includes copper and use of tools.  Safety equipment as above.

Make bracelet with pre-cut sterling jump rings.  Learn how to open, close, and form the links.

Learn a very simple chainmaille weave. 

If possible bring 2 pr. chain nose (bent) and round nose pliers.  Some tools for class use.

Links are made with spirals forming a classic pattern.  Intermediate level.  If possible, bring padded flat jaw, regular round nose & flat pliers

‘HANDS ON’ STONE POLISHING 

Make your own cabochon(s). Bring your slabbed stone or choose from stock on hand. Eye and hair protection required.  Safety glasses available.

FUSED & DIACHROIC GLASS WORKSHOP  

Create unique fused glass with the special diachroic glass.  Kits with chain, bails will be available at cost to make into a pendant.

Class limit: 10   Glass Cost: $5 - $12 per piece

Fired glass must cool!  Pick up at end of day.

*Learn wire wrap (Rm. 164 & 165) or other ways to make your glass into jewelry (Rm. 144)

 

FUSED GLASS PENDANT/ PIN  - Krista

Assemble pieces of glass and fuse them to make a little picture

MAKE A BEADED BEAD --  Mae Becker

Stitch together beads of different colors and sizes (size 15 seeds up to 8 mm) making a beautiful accent / pendant bead.
